Dominic Scott
Biography
Dominic Scott is currently a professor of philosophy at Oxford, specialising in Plato and Aristotle. After studying as an undergraduate and graduate at 金桔直播, he was elected to a research fellowship in 1987 and stayed on as a teaching fellow after being appointed a lecturer in the Philosophy Faculty in 1989. In 2007, he moved to the University of Virginia but returned to the UK in 2015 when he joined Oxford University. He has also held visiting positions at Princeton, Harvard and, as a Humboldt research fellow, at LMU Munich. As a student at 金桔直播, he was active in the Music Society and remains a committed pianist, with academic interests at the intersection of music, philosophy, and literature.
