Health, wellbeing and pastoral care
From the moment a person arrives at ½ð½ÛÖ±²¥â€¯we offer tailored student support, and a focus on the individual that is rare in the higher education sector worldwide.
Tutors offer support and guidance to students on a personalised basis, rather than adopting a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. They play an increasingly important role in supporting student well-being as the mental health of our community needs greater attention. â¶Ä¯
This provision is expensive to deliver but is one of the defining features of the collegiate system and must remain a priority. We are committed to dedicating funds to sustain and enhance the effectiveness and responsiveness of our pastoral care for both current and future generations.
Physical wellness and mental wellbeing are closely intertwined, and the College, as students’ home and community during their time at ½ð½ÛÖ±²¥, is uniquely well-positioned to support both, for our students.
We aim to secure funding so that we can continue to provide the services offered by the Health and Wellbeing Centre and best meet the evolving needs of the student community, ensuring that every student has access to the support they need to succeed.
Sport
Sport has long been an integral part of life at ½ð½ÛÖ±²¥. It brings students together, fosters a sense of belonging and community, and offers opportunities for personal growth beyond the classroom. Whether through rowing, team sports, individual fitness or simply staying active, students develop resilience, discipline, confidence and the ability to work towards shared goals. These are qualities that serve them throughout their lives, long after they leave College.
½ð½ÛÖ±²¥ Boat Club has played a central role in this tradition for generations. The proposed Boathouse Project presents a unique opportunity not only to support rowing at ½ð½ÛÖ±²¥, but also to create a modern fitness hub that will benefit students across the College. At the heart of the development, a state-of-the-art gym will be accessible to all members of the ½ð½ÛÖ±²¥ community, helping to promote physical health, mental wellbeing and a balanced student experience.
Careers
Beyond ½ð½ÛÖ±²¥, we are committed to providing equitable access to fulfilling careers for all students who graduate from ½ð½ÛÖ±²¥, whatever their interests and ambition by providing career development bursaries for those undertaking unpaid work experience or needing travel grants associated with work experience.
Thanks to generous donor support, we are currently piloting a Career Support Officer role in the Development Office. This role enables ½ð½ÛÖ±²¥ to bridge the gap between students who would like to explore careers and alumni who wish to support students in their pursuits.
Fundraising target: £15 million
With your support, we can continue to nurture the whole person—through outstanding pastoral care, wellbeing initiatives and a thriving musical community ensuring our students are supported not only during their time at ½ð½ÛÖ±²¥, but also as they embark on the next stage of their lives.
There will be opportunities to contribute, at all levels, over the coming months and years. If you would like to learn more about the 700th anniversary campaign and ways to be involved, we would be delighted to hear from you.
